Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives have announced the arrest of a fourth suspect wanted in connection with the murder of George Salwasser this past week near the town of Biola.

Last night at approximately 6:15 pm, the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 hang up call from a cell phone that originated in the area of Howard north of Shields, near the town of Biola.

Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives arrested three people yesterday after discovering a marijuana grow at a residence located in the 22000 block of E Parlier Ave.  Arrested were 63 year old John Nguyen of Reedley, 54 year old Cuc Thi Luu of Westminster, and 44 year old Cuong Van Pham of Huntington Beach.

As part of an ongoing investigation into illegal marijuana grows in Fresno County, earlier this morning, Narcotics detectives eradicated just under 900 marijuana plants from a property located in the 35000 block of Sage Lane in Squaw Valley.

Two men involved in the November, 2012 shooting of an off-duty deputy as he cycled along Friant Rd were both sentenced yesterday. 

Twenty seven year old Larry Dean McLaughlin, identified as the shooter, was sentenced to six years in state prison with a strike, and 24 year old Christopher Touchstone, the driver, was sentenced to four years in prison with a strike.  Both will have to serve at least eighty five percent of their terms before being eligible for parole.

Fresno County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the body found yesterday near Orange & Clayton.
