Update: Jeffrey Sanchez has posted bond & bailed out of jail.
On Friday, Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 36-year-old Jeffrey Sanchez.
Sanchez was booked into Fresno County Jail and is being held on a rape and two other sexual assault charges. Sanchez’s bail has been set at $105,000.
Detectives with the Sex Crimes Unit responded to a home located on the 1100 block of South Fowler Ave. in Fresno after a 19-year old woman reported that Sanchez had raped her.
Thursday night, the victim went with some of her girlfriends to a bar. The group wound up meeting some men there and then all traveled to Sanchez’s home where they consumed alcoholic drinks. Sanchez later took the woman into a bedroom and he forced her into having sex.
Detectives interviewed witnesses and collected evidence at the scene. Sanchez was then taken into custody. It has been determined that Sanchez is an employee of the Fresno City Fire Department. The Sheriff’s Office has notified Fresno Fire of this arrest.
The investigation into this matter remains open. Therefore, the Sheriff’s Office will not make any further comment on this case at this time. The District Attorney’s Office will ultimately determine if any charges will be filed in court.
