Fresno County Sheriff's Reading Posse Receives Financial Boost

Donate blood this holiday season and help save lives by participating in the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Heroes Blood Drive.
The 5-day event takes place Friday, December 19 to Tuesday, December 23. It’s located in Sierra Vista Mall, 1050 Shaw Ave., Clovis. Find us at the west end of the mall near Kohl’s, across from Payless Shoes. Donation hours run from 12:00pm – 6:00pm.
All donors will receive a free Fresno County Sheriff’s Heroes T-shirt. You will also be entered to win one of several $100 gift cards to Sierra Vista Mall, movie passes to Cinema 16 and other great prizes.
This drive is made possible thanks to a partnership with Central California Blood Center.
Donors must meet certain criteria:
-Be in good general health
-Weigh a minimum of 110 lbs.
-Be at least 17 years old (16 years old with written parental consent)
-Eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within four hours prior to donating
-Photo ID and Social Security number required at registration
-Donors may give blood every eight weeks
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office today announced the arrest of a Fresno man who was apprehended by a Sheriff’s K-9 during a residential burglary in the 500 block of W Vartikian Ave. Arrested was 43 year old Brandy Allen Warrick.
On Tuesday, 11/18/2014 at around 10:15 pm, a robbery occurred at 6110 S. Elm (Shop-N-Quick Convenience Store) in the town of Easton. Two masked men entered the store armed with handguns and forced the clerk towards the cash register. They demanded the clerk open the till, which allowed the suspects to steal an undisclosed amount of money.
This past Saturday at approximately 10:30pm, a man was shot and killed in the town of Laton. The victim is Ronnie Montalvo, 41, a resident of Laton.
Deputies with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have booked 28-year-old Steve Navarro into the Fresno County Jail.
