Four Hikers Rescued In Eastern Fresno County

Early this morning, Fresno County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue personnel rescued four lost hikers in the area of Huntington Lake.

Last night, shortly before 9:00pm, the Sheriff’s Office received a cell phone call from a hiker who advised that he and three others were lost on a trail near China Peak.

Disturbance Leads To Shooting, One Arrest

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office today announced the arrest of a Fresno man in connection with a shooting incident earlier this afternoon. Arrested was 20 year old Richard Chase Douglass.

Grandmother Arrested In Connection With Near Drowning Of Two Year Old

The 48 year old grandmother of the two year old near drowning victim has been arrested in connection with the investigation. Chou Vang of Fresno was arrested a short time ago on a single charge of child endangerment resulting in serious injury.

Jail Inmate Hospitalized With H1N1 Flu Virus

Earlier today, a 61-year-old male inmate was hospitalized with the Influenza A, commonly referred to as the H1N1 flu virus.

The inmate, who has been in custody since this past September, first complained of flu-like symptoms two days ago. He was treated by jail medical staff, however his condition deteriorated. He was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he is currently listed in serious condition.

Victim Intimidation Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Superior Court Clerk And Four Others

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office today announced the arrests of five persons, including a Fresno County Superior Court Clerk, on victim intimidation and conspiracy charges after a month long investigation. Arrested were 31 year old Christina Marie Lugo, 31 year old Ricky Modesto, 26 year old Leonard Aguilar, 42 year old Moises Lopez, and 37 year old Anthony Ray Tapia, all of Sanger.
