Deputy Faces Criminal Charges After Contacting Minor for Sexual Purposes

On Thursday afternoon, April 20th, firefighters with the Fresno Fire Department rescued two people and a dog who were in an inflatable kayak and got themselves into a dangerous situation on the San Joaquin River.
Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 22 year old Masael Rivas Reyes of Mendota.
Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 18 year old Ethan Lopez and 24 year old Sage Martinez, both of Orange Cove.
Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 27 year old Christopher Chacon for stabbing and killing his 73 year old grandfather, Jose Espinoza.
Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the murder of 40 year old Danny Ramirez. The victim, who also went by the name of Dennis Rodriguez, was living homeless on the streets of Mendota.
Shortly after 6:30 am on Sunday, April 16th, Mendota Police responded to a report of an injured person. Officers arrived at an apartment complex on Oller Street, between Fourth and Fifth Streets and found a man lying in a carport suffering from traumatic injuries. He was determined to be deceased.
Mendota Police requested the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office take over the investigation. Homicide detectives and members of our Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to collect evidence and interview people living nearby. Ramirez was last seen alive the night of April 15h.
