The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office today announced the arrest of a Fresno man on several charges after he crashed a stolen go-kart he was driving, and was later tracked to his home. Arrested was 34 year old Hollis Edward Priest III.

Priest had been wanted on several felony warrants for charges including burglary, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, theft, weapons and narcotics possession.

This past Saturday, shortly after 1:30pm, deputies responded to a burglary call at a residence located in the 4000 block of W Hammond Ave.

The victim reported someone had entered her home through a window, taken her car keys, and stolen her car. The investigation revealed Priest to be responsible for the theft.

Yesterday morning, shortly before 9:00am, deputies were dispatched to a report of a subject who had been injured when he crashed a go-kart in the 5000 block of W Hammond Ave. When they arrived, the driver had already left the scene.

During the investigation, the go-kart was found to be stolen, and the injured person who fled was identified as Priest.

Priest was tracked to a nearby residence where he was arrested without incident.

Priest suffered minor injuries in the crash and had to be taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was later transported to the Fresno County Jail where he was booked on charges of burglary, vehicle theft, and the outstanding warrants.
