Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives arrested three people yesterday after discovering a marijuana grow at a residence located in the 22000 block of E Parlier Ave.  Arrested were 63 year old John Nguyen of Reedley, 54 year old Cuc Thi Luu of Westminster, and 44 year old Cuong Van Pham of Huntington Beach.

 As part of the ongoing investigation into illegal marijuana grows in Fresno County, yesterday morning detectives contacted the three suspects at the residence after receiving a tip. 

As detectives made contact, the three were discovered in the process of harvesting the plants.  They were immediately detained.

A search of the residence revealed just under five hundred marijuana plants, sixty five pounds of processed marijuana, and another three hundred pounds of marijuana “shake”.

One of the subjects was on found to be on felony probation for transporting marijuana out of state.  He was found to be armed with a loaded handgun, and approximately $5000 in cash.

All three subjects were later booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana for sale, and cultivation of marijuana.  Nguyen was also arrested on weapons charges.

The Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public that state and federal laws, along with county ordinances, prohibits the cultivation of marijuana in Fresno County and will be aggressively enforced.
