Three Fresno men were arrested last night on several charges after leading MAGEC detectives on a high speed pursuit through central Fresno, crashing their vehicle, and fleeing into a nearby neighborhood. Arrested were 28 year old Clifford Green Jr, 20 year old Davon Aundre Millro, and 27 year old Jerel Amicho Mancia.
The incident began last night, shortly after 7:30pm when members of the Rural MAGEC Team attempted to pull over a black Chevy Malibu in the area of Cedar & McKinley for speeding violations. The driver of the Malibu failed to pull over and a pursuit immediately ensued.
The pursuit wound through central Fresno before driving eastbound onto Freeway 180 from Cedar. Speeds reached in excess of 100mph with the Malibu driving aggressively through traffic.
The Malibu exited on Peach Ave and attempted to turn south towards Belmont. The Malibu was traveling too fast to make the turn and crashed into the center island disabling the car.
Two subjects, later identified as Millro and Mancia, got out of the vehicle and ran eastbound into a residential area. They were last seen jumping over a fence into the back yard of a residence in the 5200 block of E White. The third occupant, later identified as Green, was tackled as he attempted to flee and detained.
A one square block perimeter was quickly set up by assisting units in an effort to keep the two fleeing suspects contained.
Assisted by Fresno PD, a yard by yard canine search was started at the west end of the perimeter, moving to the east.
While searching the back yard of a residence located on the southwest corner of Turner & Bush, canine “Diezel” located Millro and Mancia hiding in a van. When both suspects refused orders to come out, Canine “Diezel” was deployed and was successful in convincing both suspects to give up.
Both Millro and Mancia were transported by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment prior to being booked into the jail.
During the investigation, a citizen reported finding a handgun in the yard of their residence located in the 4300 block of E Turner. They reported the gun had been thrown out of the suspect vehicle during the pursuit.
As a result of the investigation, Green was booked on several weapons related charges and probation violations. Millro was booked on several weapons related charges, probation violations and resisting arrest. Mancia was booked on several weapons related charges, probation violations, resisting arrest, felony evading, and willfully harming a police canine.
