American Firearms

Property crimes detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are searching for the suspect(s) responsible for taking approximately 30 handguns during a burglary.

The theft occurred at American Firearms, 4089 N. Clovis Ave. in Fresno.  The incident was reported to the Sheriff’s Office around 9:30 am on Tuesday.

The early findings in the investigation show the theft taking place sometime between 6:00 pm on Monday and 9:00 am on Tuesday, while the shop was closed for business.  The suspect(s) entered the shop through the roof, disarmed the security alarm, took the guns from display cases and left through the roof.  Members of the FSO Crime Scene Unit have collected video surveillance footage from inside the store for detectives to review.  A description of the suspect(s) is not available at this time.

Detectives are working with members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).  Once FSO detectives collect the model and serial numbers of all stolen guns, they will enter them into the ATF computer database. This allows law enforcement agencies across the country to track the guns in case they are found outside our local area.

If you have any information on the suspect(s) in this case, call Detective Tim Juarez at (559) 600-8061 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867.  All tips will remain anonymous and you may be eligible for a cash reward.
