Deputies have arrested four people believed to responsible for more than a half dozen burglaries during the last two months.
They are: Jacob Ryan, 18, Joshua Ryan, 18, Trent Murphy, 21 and Disiree Jacinto Villalobos, 19. Their crimes stretch from Madera down to Visalia and include home burglaries, vehicle burglaries and vehicle thefts.
At 2:00 pm Thursday, two deputies were in the area of N. Santa Fe and N. Safford Ave. in Fresno investigating the whereabouts of a group of burglary suspects: Trent Murphy, Jacob Ryan and Joshua Ryan. While at that location, the deputies saw a red Jaguar with a driver matching the description of one of the Ryan brothers, who are twins. Deputies got into their respective patrol cars and began to follow the car to attempt to make a traffic stop. However, the suspect sped up and began running stop signs. The deputies activated their emergency lights and sirens and pursued the car. Speeds reached approximately 50 – 60 mph through the Old Fig Garden neighborhood. As the suspect approached Van Ness & Ashlan, he maneuvered around another vehicle which was stopped at the posted sign and drove through the intersection. The Jaguar struck a car heading westbound on Ashlan, injuring the two adults and children (ages 5 & 1) who were inside.
A total of four people jumped out of the Jaguar and began to run in different directions. Additional deputies, the Fresno Police helicopter and their officers responded to the scene and helped establish a perimeter in the area. Disiree Villalobos was immediately caught.
One of the deputies involved in the vehicle pursuit chased Joshua Ryan on foot through the backyard of a home and eventually arrested him.
Another deputy followed Trent Murphy to a house and found him hiding in a pool house in the backyard. The deputy arrested him.
Jacob Ryan ran into a different backyard and it was there that two residents of the property grabbed him. They called 911 and held Ryan down until a deputy arrived and placed him under arrest.
Detectives learned that the 2003 Jaguar was stolen earlier in the morning. The owner left it unattended while warming it up at her home on the 4500 block of W. Howard Ave in Visalia. The vehicle contained several items which were determined to be stolen from different cars and homes in Fresno and Clovis. Detectives are working with Clovis PD and Fresno PD to return the stolen property to its rightful owners.
All four suspects face numerous felony charges, some more than others. The list includes: Burglary, possession of stolen property, hit and run causing injury, evading a peace officer and resisting arrest.
The two adults and children involved in the car crash were treated for minor injuries. No deputies were hurt during this incident.
Detectives believe these suspects may be involved in other crimes. Anyone with additional information about them is asked to please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (559) 600-3111 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP (7867).
