The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office wants to make the public aware of a recent scam.

The suspect(s) make phone calls identifying themselves as employees of the Sheriff’s Office. They advise the potential victims of their failure to show up for jury duty, and their need to pay a $2000.00 fine before a warrant for their arrest is issued. The victims are asked to put the money in a “Green Dot” bank account.

This past weekend, deputies handled three separate calls regarding the scam.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have been a potential victim of this scam, or has any information regarding it, is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 600-3111.
