Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help to generate new leads in a murder case that occurred last year.
Around 11:00 pm on Sunday, February 20th, 2022 Parlier Police responded to a shots fired call on the 13000 block of E. Bulah Ave. in Parlier. Officers arrived at a home and discovered a teenage boy had been shot multiple times while inside the house. The boy, Ricardo Chavana, was transported to Selma Hospital and later died from his injuries.
Fresno County Sheriff’s homicide detectives determined shots were fired from outside the house and bullets travelled into the house. Chavana has been determined to be an innocent victim.
Detectives believe people in the community have valuable information, which can lead to an arrest of the shooter. They are asking those in the public to do the right thing and report what they know in order to deliver justice to the victim’s family.
Detectives have released a drawing of a person of interest and ask the public to take a close look at it. There is a $9,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
