A 19 year old woman who suffered a gunshot wound is in the hospital, listed in critical condition.

Shortly after 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 25th, Orange Cove Police officers were dispatched to a call of shots fired on the 1000 block of 8th Street. Upon arrival, officers found a young lady who had been shot. This occurred while she was sitting in her car, talking with her boyfriend who was outside of the vehicle. EMS personnel immediately transported her to the hospital. Orange Cove Police requested the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office handle the investigation.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives and members of our Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene. Detectives are working to identify the suspect and vehicle responsible. This is possibly a gang-related shooting.
