Deputies have booked 19 year old Shelvon Smith into the Fresno County Jail on numerous firearms charges, including being a felon in possession of a gun.
His bail is set at $490,000. They also booked 21 year old Sabrea Reed for drug possession and intent to sell.
Around 4:15 am on Wednesday, a deputy made a vehicle stop for a traffic violation on a Chrysler near the intersection of Ashlan and Palm Avenues in Fresno. Inside the car were four people. The deputy discovered a passenger, Shelvon Smith, was on felony probation for an assault with a deadly weapon charge. In fact, he was just released from jail yesterday after serving his sentence. Smith was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun.
Another passenger, Sabrea Reed, was in possession of two large baggies containing about 200 ecstasy pills. Her charges qualified for $0 bail, so she was released from custody and issued a court date.
The driver, Kaylia Maxwell, who is only 19 years old, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI). She was issued a citation and released from custody.
