Alberto Zamorano

California Highway Patrol officers have booked Alberto Zamorano, 31, of Fresno into the Fresno County Jail.

He faces misdemeanor charges of DUI, drug possession and driving on a suspended license.  His bond was set at $11,000 and he posted the necessary amount to bail out of jail.

Around 2:00 am on Sunday, a Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to check on a pickup truck that was parked in the middle of the roadway, near the railroad tracks at Central and Golden State Blvd.  The deputy found Alberto Zamorano passed out and slumped over the steering wheel with the engine still running.  The deputy detained Zamorano and observed that he appeared to be drunk.

A CHP officer arrived to perform a field sobriety test on Zamorano, who was found to have a Blood Alcohol Level of 0.10, which is above the legal limit of 0.08.  Zamorano’s vehicle was searched and inside was a large plastic bag of methamphetamine, a glass pipe, digital scale and a torch.

Anyone with additional information on the suspect in this case is asked to please contact the Sheriff’s Office dispatch at (559) 600-3111 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP (7867).  All tips will remain anonymous and you may be eligible for a cash reward.
