Linthong faces a felony charge of being a felon in possession of ammunition.  He and Vang also face misdemeanor charges for illegally operating gambling machines.  Additionally, Vang is facing a felony charge for committing a crime while being out on bail.  Linthong is a validated gang member.

Wednesday morning, members of the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC) served a search warrant at an apartment unit located on the 2100 block of N. Angus Street in Fresno.  This action was performed as part of follow-up work to an ongoing investigation.

Inside one room of the apartment, officers found gambling machines, which were being used to operate an illegal casino.  These included four video slot machines and multiple computers set up to run other games such as poker. Undisclosed amounts of cash were found inside the machines, which indicates they were recently played.  It is unknown how long this operation had been taking place.  Members of the FSO Vice / Special Investigations Unit took possession of the machines and booked them into evidence.

Fresno Police arrested Linthong and Vang on August 27, 2015 at a home on the 2300 block of E. Thomas Ave.  That case also involved the two suspects running an illegal gambling operation.

Anyone with additional information on this case is asked to please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (559) 600-3111 or call Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP (7867).  You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
