Detectives with the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium have arrested 21 year old Gabriel Soto of Fresno.
He will be booked into the Fresno County Jail and face two charges of attempted murder.
Around 3:30 pm on Friday, MAGEC detectives took Gabriel Soto into custody during a vehicle stop in the area of Fresno Street and Bullard Ave. in Fresno.
Around 1:30 am on Friday, an argument took place between a total of three people at the 7-Eleven store located near Kings Canyon Rd. and Willow Ave. in Fresno. Two men got into their vehicle and the third man got into his vehicle and all of them left the store. As the two men stopped at the traffic light located at Belmont and Peach Avenues, the other man, Soto, fired multiple bullets at the stopped vehicle and then drove away.
Two men in their early 20s were struck and injured. Both were transported to the hospital. One is in serious condition and the other in critical condition.
Shortly after the shooting took place, Sheriff homicide detectives took over the investigation. After developing information this was a gang-related incident, homicide detectives requested assistance from MAGEC. After obtaining surveillance video from the 7-Eleven store, detectives were able to use their gang intelligence to identify Soto as a person in the video. They visited locations in Fresno is Soto is known to stay and in the afternoon they found him riding in a vehicle. Detectives made a vehicle stop and took him into custody without incident.
