At 9:00 am on Sunday June 8th, members of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office will hand out a total of 160 life jackets to residents, free of charge.
These adult and child size jackets will be evenly distributed at the following four Fresno County locations: Skaggs Bridge Park, Lost Lake Park, Avocado Lake Park and Laton-Kingston Park. Our priority is to give these to visitors who do not already own a life jacket. It will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please form a single file line at the distribution point, which is shown with a red dot on each attached park map.
Our goal is to get swimmers in the habit of wearing life jackets every time they get into a lake or river. We hope to make the thought process as routine as buckling a safety belt when you get into a vehicle.
Thank you to Walmart in Kerman and Big 5 Sporting Goods in Fresno for working with us to accumulate these life jackets.
If you wish to make a tax deductible donation so that more life jackets can be purchased, visit: https://sheriffsfoundationforpublicsafety.org/
In the note section, type "Life Jackets."
