On Saturday, June 11th, Operation Safe Summer took place.
This included approximately 80 law enforcement officers from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, Fresno County District Attorney’s Investigations Unit, Cal Fire, Fresno County Probation, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California State Parole, Kerman Police, Clovis Police, California Highway Patrol, California State Parks and the U.S. Forest Service. Part of the operation focused on parole and probation checks and the other part focused on proactively seeking out potential criminal activity in Friant, Millerton Lake, Shaver Lake and areas in between.
Law enforcement wants to inform the public that operations like this one will be conducted periodically throughout the summer season. The goal is to allow individuals and families to enjoy popular destinations in our mountain communities in a safe, criminal free environment. Those who wish to disrupt peaceful gatherings in our towns at our lakes and rivers will be contacted and cited or arrested. Please celebrate responsibly and be safe.
