Our veteran K-9 Nina is calling it a career.
This nine year old Belgian Malinois joined the Sheriff’s Office in February 2018. During that time, she worked patrol and was in the process of being cross trained for explosive odors.
Her first handler left our canine unit for a detective position and Nina was reassigned to handler, Deputy Quinn (pictured). They were partners for the past two years. Unfortunately, Nina has begun to have hip issues and for quality of life, she is being taken out of service. In retirement, she will live with a member of our canine unit.
