Around 7:45 am on January 23, 2022, deputies were dispatched to a call of an injured person in a field.

This was located near the intersection of S. Monroe and W. Harlan Avenues in Riverdale. The deputy was directed to a specific area of a pistachio orchard and found a deceased man.

Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and began an investigation. The victim was later identified as 33 year old Jose Julian Urrutia of Coalinga. His suffered injuries consistent with a homicide. Detectives have reviewed evidence, but are unable to identify any suspects.
