The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office today announced the arrest of a homeless Fresno woman in connection with the theft of a horse from west Fresno.  Arrested was 48 year old Jill Lorette Jackson.

The investigation began this past Easter when the horse was stolen from a residence located in the 4000 block of W Clinton Ave.  The victims posted flyers regarding the stolen horse, and put the information out on social media as well.  One local television station saw the information and did a story on the stolen horse.

 Earlier this month, the Sheriff’s Office received an animal complaint call at a residence located in the 3000 block of N Brawley Ave.  The caller stated an unknown female had stopped by her house trying to sell a horse.  When she could not sell the horse, the female left it at the callers home and never returned.

 The caller recalled seeing the news story regarding a stolen horse, and contacted the Sheriff’s Office.  Deputies were able to track down the victim who positively identified the horse as hers.

 Further investigation led to Jackson, who was positively identified as being responsible for the theft.

 This past Friday, Jackson was located in a vacant lot near the intersection of Olive & Hughes where she was arrested on charges of possession of stolen property.  During her arrest, deputies discovered she was on felony probation for vehicle theft.  She was later booked into the Fresno County Jail.
