Maple Drive, Orange Cove

Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are searching for the suspect(s) responsible for the shooting death of Thomas Michael Martinez, 27, of Orange Cove.

Around 9:15 pm on Friday, a small gathering was taking place at a home on the 100 block of Maple Drive in Orange Cove when gunshots rang out. A call was made to the Orange Cove Police Department and officers responded to the area. Officers found Martinez, who had been shot. The victim was flown to Community Regional Medical Center and later died due to his injuries.

Officers established a crime scene and requested the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office to take over this homicide investigation.

FSO detectives and members of its Crime Scene Unit arrived to collect evidence and interview witnesses. A motive has not been determined and no arrests have been made.
