Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a weekend party disturbance where gunshots were fired and five people stabbed.

Yesterday morning, shortly before 1:00am, deputies responded to the 17500 block of W Kearney Ave regarding shots being fired in the area.  When they arrived, deputies determined a disturbance had occurred during a large party at a nearby residence.

Witnesses reported during the party, a large fight started in the back yard of the residence.  The fight moved to the front yard where several shots were fired.

During the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office received information of several stabbing victims who had arrived separately at Community Regional Medical Center.  All had been stabbed during the party disturbance.

In all, five people were stabbed during the disturbance, their injuries ranging from superficial to serious.  There have been no arrests.

The incident appears to be gang related and a majority of the victims and witnesses were uncooperative with law enforcement.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office at 600-3111, or CrimeStoppers at 498-STOP(7867).
