Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested 40 year old Cesar Alberto Perez Mejia of Firebaugh.

On April 20th, he was booked into the Fresno County Jail for a felony charge of possessing drugs for sale.  He also faces numerous misdemeanor charges related to driving under the influence (DUI).  His bail was set at $31,000.  He posted bond and was released from custody on April 21st.

Around 10:45 pm on April 19th, a Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy was on patrol in the area of Whitesbridge Rd. and Napa Ave. in Kerman when he noticed a black Chevy Tahoe swerving on the road.  The deputy believed the driver might be drunk or under the influence of drugs, so he pulled over the SUV.  Once the deputy contacted the driver, Cesar Alberto Perez Mejia, he could tell he had been drinking.  An officer from the California Highway Patrol was called to the scene to administer a field sobriety test, which Perez Mejia failed.

During a search of the suspect and his vehicle, the deputy found several baggies of cocaine and methamphetamine packaged for sale, along with a scale.  Perez Mejia also possessed a large amount of cash.
