On March 6th, narcotics detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a commercial warehouse located at 240 N. H Street in Fresno.

Inside they discovered an illegal marijuana growing operation containing 1,200 plants.  The facility had an elaborate setup for growing marijuana from the seedling stage.  Detectives determined it had the framework to accommodate more than 500,000 seedling plants.  During this search, a total of 600 seedlings were found inside the warehouse, along with 150 pounds of processed marijuana.

To be legal under the standards of Proposition 64, a person must be at least 21 years old and can grow no more than six marijuana plants for recreational use.  This must also be done inside a secure structure.  Legitimate business owners wishing to sell marijuana must be licensed and must follow strict regulations.

Detectives went to this facility after receiving a tip from the community.  If you have a tip about illegal drug activity, give it to Crime Stoppers by calling (559) 498-7867 or visiting www.valleycrimestoppers.org  You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
