Narcotics detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 21 year old Manuel Gonzalez Lopez and 32 year old Mario Andujo Hernandez, both of Sinaloa, Mexico.

These two suspects have been booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of possession of narcotics for sale.  They each have a bail amount of $225,000.

On Wednesday, detectives made a traffic violation stop on a vehicle travelling along Interstate 5 in Fresno County.  As detectives were speaking to the men in the vehicle, K-9 ‘Gere’ picked up a scent of narcotics and alerted detectives.  A search of the vehicle revealed several packages containing powdered Fentanyl.  The total weight was 15 kilograms (33 lbs.).  When cut down into smaller usage amounts, this Fentanyl has the potential to kill 7 ½ million people.  The total street value is estimated to be $250,000.  Detectives seized the drugs for evidence and destruction.

This large amount of narcotics is consistent with the work of drug trafficking organizations.
