Members of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit have identified the homicide victim who was shot in the City of San Joaquin.  He is 33 year old Rosendo Herrera of San Joaquin.

Shortly after midnight on Thursday, Fresno County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received a call from a homeowner who stated there was an injured man in front of their house located on the 9000 block of Donna Street in San Joaquin.  Deputies arrived and found the man, later identified as Rosendo Herrera, to be suffering from gunshot wounds.  Deputies provided first aid until EMS personnel arrived and took over medical attention.  Herrera died a short time later.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Unit technicians responded to collect evidence and interview potential witnesses.  Detectives determined Herrera was riding a bicycle when someone shot him multiple times.  Detectives are looking into the possibility of this being a gang-related shooting.  The public’s help is needed to identify a possible suspect or suspects.
