Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s help to locate 53 year old Jose Rangel.  He is 5’8”, 180 lbs. with medium length, wavy gray hair.  Rangel may be armed, so the public should not approach him.  Instead, call law enforcement immediately.

Shortly before 1:00 am on June 17th, Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a shooting that had occurred on a piece of property at the southwest corner of S. Derrick and W. Clarkson Avenues in Three Rocks / Cantua Creek.  Deputies, California Highway Patrol officers and EMS personnel arrived and found a man outside, behind a church in the area, who was suffering from a gunshot wound.  Medical aid was given, but the man died at the scene.  The victim has been identified as 33 year old Augustine Alvarado Trujillo.

Jose Rangel, who is known to stay in the area, is believed to have information about the shooting.  It is important that detectives speak with him immediately.
