They are persons of interest in the murder of a Malaga man, which occurred on Friday, July 9th. Detectives need to identify them and speak with them.
Just before 9:30 am, Fresno County Sheriff’s dispatchers received a call of shots fired in front of a home on the 3000 block of E. Olney Ave. in Malaga. Deputies responded and found a 52 year old Javier Fernandez of Malaga suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They performed CPR until an ambulance arrived and medics transported Fernandez to Community Regional Medical Center. At 10:00 am, he was pronounced deceased.
The preliminary investigation reveals the victim was in a vehicle when he was shot, then got out and collapsed on the street. Detectives identified a silver Honda CRV as the vehicle belonging to the suspects. Shortly before 1:00 pm, a matching vehicle was found burned near Jensen and Cedar Avenues. This Honda CRV was reported stolen earlier in the day. The persons of interest were captured on camera running from the area of Jensen and Cedar.
