Around 4:45 am on Sunday June 13th, Parlier Police responded to a shooting call in front of a home on the 13000 block of 9th Street in Parlier.

Two men were found with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to the hospital and one later died.  He has been identified as 52 year old Silvano Mendoza of Parlier.  The other victim is expected to survive.

Parlier Police requested the Sheriff’s Office take over the investigation.  Homicide detectives and members of our Crime Scene Unit responded to collect evidence and interview witnesses.

At 10:00 pm on Sunday, Parlier Police were dispatched to a shooting on the 8500 block of Gardenia Ave. in Parlier.  Officers discovered a man in the street suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was transported to the hospital and later died.  He has been identified as 35 year old Martin Gutierrez of Parlier.

The Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded to handle this investigation as well.  Detectives have not yet identified any suspects or determined a possible motive in both of these shootings.  There is no evidence to show they are related to each other.

These homicides mark the second and third of 2021 for the city of Parlier.
