Norman Vulich

Detectives have arrested 57 year old Norman Vulich for shooting and killing his 68 year old brother, Jerry Vulich.

Norman has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on a murder charge and a charge of committing a felony while armed.  His bail is $1.5 million.  

At 8:30 am on Friday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office received a report of someone possibly being shot. Deputies responded to the location at the corner of W. Manning and S. West Avenues near Easton.

There they found a man, later identified as Norman Vulich, walking along the road. As a precaution, they detained him. Deputies then searched the property and found an injured man, later identified as Jerry Vulich, lying on the ground behind a barn. A closer look revealed he had been shot and was deceased.

Homicide detectives and members of our Crime Scene Unit responded and took over the investigation. The man initially detained is considered the primary suspect in the shooting. No other suspects are considered to be outstanding at this time.

This marks the 19th homicide investigation of 2020 in Fresno County. In 2019, there were 18 homicides.
