Around 7:00 am on Monday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call where the caller stated that there was a man at a home on the 1000 block of S. Rogers Ln. in Fresno who was threatening to kill himself and that someone else in the house was already dead. Deputies forced entry into the house and found a woman who was deceased. Deputies detained a man in the house with unknown injuries. These were the only two people at the home when deputies arrived. The suspect and victim do know each other, however, their exact relationship has not been confirmed.
The suspect was taken to the hospital for medical treatment and he remains detained. His name is not available for release at this time.
This is an ongoing investigation. Homicide detectives and crime scene technicians are working together in gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses to try and determine a motive in this case.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending an autopsy and notification of family members.
This marks the 9th homicide of the year in Fresno County.
