Detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Ag Task Force have booked two men into the Fresno County Jail.
The suspects are Jason West, 30, of Riverdale and Gurinder “Paul” Singh, 39, of Caruthers. Both men face charges of burglary and drug possession. Both are on active probation. Their arrests are a violation of that probation, which makes them ineligible for bail.
On Tuesday, March 15th, Ag detectives went to a home on the 3300 block of Stathem Street in Riverdale to try and find Jason West. West had an active warrant for a misdemeanor crime. Detectives contacted West and arrested him. During a probation search of the home, detectives found marijuana and a methamphetamine pipe belonging to West. Detectives also developed information about one of West’s friends, Paul Singh, who was identified as possibly being responsible for a recent burglary.
Detectives then visited a home on the 13000 block of S. Elm Ave. in Caruthers and found Singh. A probation search revealed evidence that linked Singh to the burglary. Detectives also discovered narcotics.
On March 10th, deputies took a report at a farm located near the intersection of Floral and Jameson Avenues, which is west of Caruthers. A sea train shipping container on the property had been broken into. The suspect (Singh) stole several farm tools and supplies.
“The arrests of these two men is significant because they have been known to prey on hard working members of the ag community over and over again,” said Lt. Ryan Hushaw, who oversees the Fresno County Sheriff’s Ag Task Force.
