Crystal Quair

Detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit have booked 30 year old Crystal Quair into the Fresno County Jail.

She is facing a charge of attempted murder.  She also had outstanding warrants related to drugs and alcohol.  Her bail is set at $570,000.

On May 11, 2021, deputies responded to a shooting at a home on the 13000 block of S. Marks Ave. in Caruthers.  There they found a 38 year old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her stomach.  Deputies provided medical aid to the victim until firefighters and EMS personnel arrived and took over.  The California Highway Patrol’s helicopter H40 landed nearby and transported the woman to Community Regional Medical Center.  She successfully underwent surgery and is now recovering from her injuries.

Homicide detectives took over the investigation and developed information that Crystal Quair was responsible for using a rifle to commit the shooting.  Quair and the victim know each other and have had ongoing problems, so this was a targeted act.  A warrant was later issued for Quair’s arrest.

On June 9th, officers with the Lemoore Police Department located Quair at an apartment complex located on the 200 block of N. Lemoore Ave.  They contacted the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office and a deputy took Quair into custody.  Detectives interviewed Quair and booked her into jail on an attempted murder charge.  Detectives served a search warrant and recovered a rifle.
