On Tuesday, February 18th, detectives with the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force arrested 28 year old Maci Rodriguez of Kerman.
She has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of arranging to meet a minor for sexual purposes and sending harmful matter to a minor.
Rodriguez has served as an after school tutor at Kerman Floyd Elementary. She was working for an outside company called Teaching Fellows, which is contracted by the Kerman Unified School District. Due to this ongoing investigation, Rodriguez’ employer immediately placed her on administrative leave.
On Tuesday, the school district and Kerman Police received information about concerning digital communications between Rodriguez and a middle school aged student, who attended Kerman Floyd Elementary in the past. ICAC detectives were contacted to take over the case. A preliminary investigation shows Rodriguez sent messages to this student, which were sexual in nature. Thus far, no evidence has been discovered that the two ever engaged in a physical relationship.
Due to her position in the school district, detectives are concerned there may be more victims who have not reported similar incidents involving Maci Rodriguez.
