Aurelio Murillo

Aurelio Murillo, 38, of Parlier has been booked into the Fresno County Jail.  He is facing charges of burglary, harming a K-9 officer, drug possession and possessing false citizenship documents.

Shortly before 1:30 pm Wednesday, deputies were dispatched to a home on the 7500 block of S. Academy Ave. in Parlier, where a burglar alarm was going off.  The first deputy on scene discovered a broken window at the house.  As additional patrols were in route, the deputy saw the suspect, Aurelio Murillo, run out of the house and into an orchard.  Deputies quickly setup a perimeter in the area and a K-9 (Tango) was called to the scene.  During a search of the orchard, K-9 Tango spotted the suspect hiding behind a tree.  Murillo refused to comply with the deputy’s commands to surrender, so K-9 Tango was deployed and went after him.  K-9 Tango bit Murillo’s lower left leg and dragged him into the open, which allowed deputies to arrest him.  Murillo fought with K-9 Tango and hit him several times, however, the dog was not seriously hurt. Murillo was taken by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
