Carrie Drew

Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested 42 year old Carrie Drew of Fresno.  She has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of attempted murder and elder abuse.  Her bail is set at $500,000.

Around 11:30 am Monday, a homeowner made a report to the Sheriff’s Office of two women in a physical fight in the next door driveway of a house located on the 800 block of N. De Wolf Ave. in Fresno.  As deputies were responding to the scene, the suspect later identified as Carrie Drew, left in her car.  Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived and treated the 67 year old victim who had been beaten up and stabbed in the upper body.  The woman, who is the suspect’s mother, was transported to the hospital.  She is in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.

Deputies were able to gather information about the suspect and her vehicle, which was a 2017 Chevrolet HHR.  Drew fled the house with her four year old son in the car.  Dispatchers relayed a “Be on the Lookout” (BOL) for the vehicle to all local law enforcement agencies.  Shortly after 1:00 pm, a sheriff’s deputy spotted the suspect’s vehicle travelling on Auberry Road, north of Copper Ave.  The deputy made a traffic stop and was able to take Drew into custody.  Her son was found safe inside the vehicle.

The information sharing and teamwork of all law enforcement officers is to be commended in this case.  It led to a fast, safe resolution.
