Armando Lopez

Deputies arrested and booked 44 year Armando Lopez of Parlier into the Fresno County Jail.

He faces 10 felony charges, which include possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm in a negligent manner and evading police.  His bail was set at $290,000.  He has since posted bond and been released from custody.  He is scheduled to appear in court on April 7, 2025.

At 2:45 am on March 21, deputies responded to a call of shots fired on the 10000 block of E. Redondo Ave. in Del Rey.  Deputies learned shots were fired toward an apartment complex by someone in a gray Chevrolet Suburban.  No one was struck by bullets.

Assisting deputies located the SUV in the area and attempted to make a traffic stop.  The driver refused to pull over and deputies pursued the vehicle.  The suspect, later identified as Armando Lopez, reached speeds up to 90 mph and eventually crashed into an orchard approximately four miles away, near S. McCall and E. Parlier Avenues.  Lopez tried to run away, but deputies quickly took him into custody.

A search of his vehicle revealed two unregistered short-barrel AR-15 style pistols, along with several hundred rounds of ammunitions.  Lopez is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms.  All firearms recovered were unregistered and privately manufactured. (A.K.A. "Ghost Guns.")
