Around 8:00 am on Friday (6/21/24), members of the Tulare County Search and Rescue Team found 4 year old Cristian Ramirez.
He was about a quarter mile away from where he reportedly disappeared. Cristian was nestled under a tree. He is in good condition, just tired and hungry. He has been reunited with his parents. There were no suspicious circumstances in this case.
This was an amazing show of teamwork and dedication. There were more than 50 deputies and volunteers who combined to participate in this search. This included members of other law enforcement agencies who assisted us, working non-stop throughout the night.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office would also like to thank the community. Many people offered to help join the search, kept their eyes peeled, spread the word on social media and sent prayers up. All of this undoubtedly helped to bring Cristian home safely.
Cristian's parents ask for their privacy moving forward and have issued the following statement.
"We would like to thank God, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office and all Search and Rescue Team members who worked to bring Cristian back to us safely."

Shortly before 11 am on Thursday (6/20/24), a family at the Rancheria Campground reported their 4 year old boy was missing. They had been searching for him about an hour before they called our department. Cristian Ramirez was last seen wearing a gray Volcom brand t-shirt, blue shorts and gray Nike shoes.
We have our Search and Rescue team, Air Support Unit, Forest Service rangers and California Fish & Wildlife officers looking for him in the northeastern portion of Huntington Lake.
