The Army National Guard has presented the Sheriff's Office with the Adjutant General's Meritorious Unit Citation.

The award is for work performed by the Boating Enforcement Unit & Dive Team.

Last year, Blackhawk flight crews were doing water bucket training at Millerton Lake in support of a Cal Fire firefighting mission. During a dip-hover, the cargo hook released the bucket and it immediately sank to the bottom of the lake near the island closest to Friant Dam. 

The Army requested the help of FSO deputies and they were able to dive down and recover the $25,000 water bucket.  The Army showed their appreciation for this professionalism by also recognizing the 11 deputies involved with certificates and ribbons.
