An Orange Cove man, wanted in connection with a drive by shooting which occurred last month, has been caught. 47 year old Fabian Ramos Ramirez Jr was arrested yesterday at a residence in Dinuba.
A tip led detectives to the home in Dinuba where Ramirez was apparently working. With the assistance of the US Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force, Ramirez was taken into custody without incident.
The drive-by shooting occurred on the afternoon of May 11th near the intersection of Railroad & “D” in the City of Orange Cove. The shooting victim underwent emergency surgery at CRMC and is still recovering from his injuries. The investigation identified Ramirez as one of two suspects involved. The second suspect, 21 year old Javier Serna Alcantar, is still wanted by detectives. Alcantar, who goes by the street name “Gallo”, is described as a Hispanic male, 5-7/ 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is possibly staying in the Dinuba or Sultana area.
A red, 2007 Dodge Charger being sought by detectives, was also recovered. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Alcantar is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 600-3111, or CrimeStoppers at 498-STOP(7867).
