Michael Haynes***Update***  On 5/1/15: Missing "at-risk" man, Michael Haynes, was found safe in Madera.  Madera Police have reunited him with family. 

Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing “at-risk” man.  Michael Shane Haynes, age 37, has been missing since April 22nd.

Haynes is a resident of Michael Home, an adult residential facility that provides 24-hour, non-medical care for adults ages 18 through 59, who are unable to provide for their own daily needs.  Haynes is originally from Merced.  

On April 22nd, around 5:00 pm, Haynes walked away from the facility located at 4828 E. Princeton Ave. in Fresno.   This is not the first time Michael has walked away from the care home.  He is known to walk to the area of Shields Ave. and Chestnut Ave. to visit the Shell gas station.  He also frequents the Fastrip gas station at the corner of Clinton Ave. and Chestnut Ave.

Haynes has reportedly been diagnosed with diminished mental capacity, which requires him to take medication on a daily basis.  

Haynes is described as a white male, 5’9”/ 220 lbs. with blonde hair, blue eyes and a mustache.  He also has a two-inch scar on his left arm.  Haynes was last seen wearing a white tank top, black sweat pants and white tennis shoes.

On April 24th at approximately 4:30 pm, Haynes called a relative from the McDonald’s located at the corner of Yosemite and Cleveland Ave. in Madera.  A witness reported seeing someone matching Haynes’ description near the restaurant.  He got into a lifted 4x4, green, extended cab Dodge pickup being driven by a man. The driver is described as white, in his 30s or early 40s and wearing a black Stetson cowboy hat.
