On Wednesday, June 28, 2017, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office lifted mandatory evacuation notices and evacuation warning notices at the Riverbend Mobile Home Park located at 17604 E. Kings Canyon Road in Sanger.

On the night of June 24th, Fresno County Sheriff’s correctional officers were performing routine checks of inmates in the jail when they noticed a man who was unresponsive inside his cell. Officers entered the cell and immediately requested medical attention for 21 year old Augustin Angel Chavez. He was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he later died.
Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office and investigators with the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office responded to the hospital to begin an investigation into this “in-custody death.” Staff at the Coroner’s Office have since conducted an examination of Chavez’ body, but have not yet ruled a cause of death. It is pending the results of toxicology tests.
Fresno Police booked Chavez into the jail on the night of June 16, 2017. He was facing several felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and a probation violation.

Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 52-year-old Robert Jack King of Clovis for exposing himself near the wave pool at Wild Water Adventure Park in Clovis.

At 7:00 pm on Thursday, water being released from Pine Flat Lake may be flowing into the Kings River at a rate of approximately 14,600 cubic feet per second (cfs). This means there is an increased potential for flooding in some areas of Fresno County.
