Detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating the death of a suspect who has been identified as 38 year old David Worsham of Fresno.

At 3:30 am on September 19th, deputies responded to a home on the 100 block of W. Hampton Way in Fresno.  A family member of Worsham’s reported he had assaulted them and was acting bizarre.  The victim managed to lock Worsham out of the house.  Deputies found Worsham in the front yard of the home and he would not follow their orders to surrender.  Deputies eventually gained compliance from Worsham and detained him.  EMS arrived on scene to medically evaluate Worsham.  During this time, he experienced a medical emergency.  He was transported to the hospital for treatment.  On September 23rd, Worsham passed away.

This remains an ongoing investigation.  An autopsy has been performed and a cause of death should be known following the results of toxicology tests.
