The first of a series of severe storms has now moved into our region. It is expected to deliver several inches of rain throughout the weekend.
This rain, coupled with snow melt, will put a strain on lakes, rivers and streams. Communities along the Kings and San Joaquin Rivers are at most risk for flooding. The Sheriff's Office has rescue personnel and equipment staged throughout the county, ready to respond to emergencies.
An evacuation warning is currently in effect for eastern Fresno County, meaning residents should begin gathering belongings and be prepared for possible evacuation orders. Avoid traveling if possible, monitor hazardous situations and report immediately by dialing 911 or (559) 600-3111.
