Fresno County Margaret Mims today announced the arrest of a Fresno parolee after leading deputies on a pursuit of the stolen truck he was driving. Arrested was 21 year old Francisco Lopez Felix.

The incident began when deputies attempted to pull over a white Chevy pick-up truck in the area Palm and Shields for traffic violations. The vehicle failed to pull over and the pursuit ensued.

The pursuit lasted for 20 minutes, reaching speeds of up to 60 mph, and traversing through neighborhoods throughout central Fresno.

During the pursuit, dispatch was able to confirm that the vehicle was a reported stolen truck from the City of Fresno.

Near the intersection of Donner & Clovis, deputies were able to deploy spike strips which disabled the truck and forced it to stop.

During the vehicle stop, deputies used bean bag rounds to break out the rear tinted window as Felix was not responding to deputy's commands, and they could not see his movements.

After a short time, Felix was taken into custody without further incident. He was later booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, felony evading, and outstanding arrest warrants for battery on a custodial officer, and possession of narcotics.
