Detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Sex Crimes Unit have arrested 55 year old Alejandro Garcia of Selma.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office secured a $430,000 grant in October 2022, which will be used to obtain and introduce body worn cameras into the field.

Around 11:45 am on Tuesday, January 31, Selma Police Officer Gonzalo Carrasco Jr. was patrolling the 2600 block of Pine Street in Selma when he pulled over to do a subject check on a man later identified as Nathaniel Dixon.

The Selma Police Officer who was killed in the line of duty on Tuesday is 24 year old Gonzalo Carrasco Jr.

Around 11:45 am on Tuesday, a homeowner flagged down a Selma Police officer patrolling the 2600 block of Pine Street regarding a man being on her property.
