Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 27 year old Christopher Chacon for stabbing and killing his 73 year old grandfather, Jose Espinoza.

Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the murder of 40 year old Danny Ramirez. The victim, who also went by the name of Dennis Rodriguez, was living homeless on the streets of Mendota.

Shortly after 6:30 am on Sunday, April 16th, Mendota Police responded to a report of an injured person. Officers arrived at an apartment complex on Oller Street, between Fourth and Fifth Streets and found a man lying in a carport suffering from traumatic injuries. He was determined to be deceased.

Mendota Police requested the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office take over the investigation. Homicide detectives and members of our Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to collect evidence and interview people living nearby. Ramirez was last seen alive the night of April 15h.

Around 2:20 pm on Saturday, April 15th, dispatchers with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a disturbance with gunshots at the intersection of Valentine and Princeton Avenues in Fresno.

As many of you are aware, in response to heavy winter storms creating high water levels and hazardous conditions on the Kings and San Joaquin Rivers, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office issued a closure of these rivers to recreational users.

Detectives with the Fresno H.E.A.T. (Help Eliminate Auto Theft) Task Force have arrested 56 year old Christopher Michael Asher of Fresno.

The man shot and killed on Saturday, March 25th, has been identified as 40 year old Paul Valenzuela of Kerman.

On Sunday afternoon, March 26th, deputies responded to a report of five people and a dog floating in a raft down the San Joaquin River.

A man has died after being struck in a hit & run vehicle collision. He has been identified as 48 year old Jaime Loza of Del Rey.
