The Vice/Intelligence Unit is responsible for investigating allegations of prostitution, pimping, human trafficking, illegal gambling, animal fights, the sale of counterfeit merchandise and conducts compliance inspections of licensed alcoholic beverage retail establishments. In addition to these responsibilities, the unit investigates computer crimes, including conducting forensic computer examinations, and counterterrorism investigations.
The Fresno County Sheriff's office has partnered with the Internet Crime Complaint Center to better assist the residents of Fresno County in dealing with online scams and potential online frauds. IC3 is a collaborative effort between the FBI, and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C). IC3 provides a central point for Internet crime victims to report and to alert an appropriate agency on-line at ic3.gov. IC3 collects, reviews, and refers Internet crime complaints to law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction to aid in preventive and investigative efforts.
